Trailer soil

We produce the trailer soil out of special plywood plates d=6mm and/or d=9mm. These plywood plates are riveted on the cross beams. After the soil was cutted, layed and riveted, all joints are closed with permanent elastic material. Since permanent elastic joints are always repair joints, you should control these joints in several time intervals.

For the single-seater we use the strength of 6 mm. With the motorized gliders and with the double-seater trailers we use 9 mm of material thickness. The soil contributes a large part to the reinforcement but unfortunately also to the weight of the trailer. Of course we could use larger material thicknesses, but in that case we cannot hold the weight of the single-seater trailer of 450 - 500 kg.

If you wish, we supply the soil of the trailer with a from a plastic material. Here we use the same material thicknesses. Pleas consider the following: When we are using the plastic for the trailers soil, the whole trailer becomes more tight. The obligation exhausts we planed in some places, are not big enough any longer to avoid and/or exhaust the resulting condensing water. In such case you should think about having a solar exhaust.

Here you can see the riveting of the plates on the cross beams. Consider also aligning rivets in longitudinal direction.

Here an elevator mounting plate lies on the trailer soil. Again well to recognize is the rivet picture. Unfortunately you can't see the permanent elastic joining. These joints are squirted out with transparent silicone. Thus the joints are not noticeable.
