Wing dolly

The wing dolly is used to tranport the wings into the trailer and with closed lift top and the oppressive retaining bar at the same time for the adjustment of the wings.

The wing dolly consist of an aluminum basic frame with 4 installed wheels. For the lateral guidance the rail in the center of the trailer and on the side the groove in the chassis side is used. At the chassis side 2 guide wheels and a guidance hook are runing. The guidance hook runs in a groove, extra planned for that purpose, in the chassis side. With this special driving system the keeping in track is ensured and tilting not possibly. You can transport you wings as surely as on rails into the trailer.

On the driving car a cross beam is installed on which the taking up mechanism for the appropriate wing is placed. For this we stored lots of turned hard plastic thorns, which we cut to length accordingly and install them. In our company we can manufacture special designs for uncommon wing taking ups, which only can be reached by an auxiliary aluminum construction. For the Cirrus for example a wing taking up must be manufactured by such a welded aluminum construction.

In the reference to wing dollys and the transport of the wings of the airplane into the trailer applies: "All, the wing area endangering places are generously padded." In addition to the dollys there are also the edge bags and the guide plate, that surrounds the lower fastening spot of the gas pressure absorbers. If the upholstery should not be seen on our photos, it is because of the fact that we photographed the appropriate details during the construction. Partially the design details are otherwise covered by the upholstery.

For run dry of the trailer we attached an anchor hinge within the range of the trailer center. Here the wing dollys can be locked. You should put the wing dollys to that position and engage them there after assembling. This is only one handle and you never know where the flight might end. The retrieving crew should always find a "travel-finished" trailer.

Limit stop

The limit stop for the wing dolly is lovated in the guide groove. The drive of the wing dolly is limited by these units to both sides, to the rear as well as forward.
