Lift top - High pressure gas springs (on the inside)

Since the fulcrum of the entire lift top lies in front, the gas pressure springs practically gets the complete load of the lift top. The entire lift top weighs about 100 kg and with all accessories even more. Here no outerwings are considered.

In this point our competitors and predecessor have again and again tried to save material and weight. Like the fulcrum in the front we have constructed the whole detail completely new. Finally it makes no sense to accept scratches or even perhaps the failure of the critical point just in order decrease the weight for 1-2 kg.

For this reason we laminate load distribution plates into the lift top. Such reinforcement are built in the chassis sides too. Since the time we accomplished these modifications we are now sure that we solved the problem in this range and are thus prepared for the future. Nevertheless longer and heavier outerwings must be accommodated in the lift top within the next years. This has the consequence that we are forced to put higher loads into the gas pressure absorbers and concomitantly into the upper and lower critical point.
