Fuselage dolly

The fuselage dolly has three funktion. At first it is the stay of the fuselage during transport, at second it fixes the entire airplane when assemble and diassemble and third it is used to bring in the fuselage into the trailer.

The fuselage dolly consists of four high-quality wheels, four conection elements, an aluminum axle and the GRP fuselage bowl. Two connecting frameworks are installed with two wheels. With this construction a twin axle is developed. These aluminum basic frames are connected by the aluminum axle on that the fuselage bolwl is attached. In the finished condition both the twin axle and the fuselage bowl is movable. With this construction the fuselage dolly is able to adapt each form of the fuselage and at the same time also the different ramp angles.

When bringing it into the trailer the rails exactly give the way to the fuselage dolly. Because of the larger wheel base of the twin axle a derailing of the fuselage dolly is nearly impossible. The rails are by the way used double. They give also the way for the wing dollys.

Here again the reference to the necessary upholstery. With the fuselage dolly is to be particularly paid attention to the complete gluing of all edges of the GRP bowl.

For the run dry of the trailer you can fasten the fuselage dolly with few handles to the several times secured ramp. After the assembly you should fasten the fuselage dolly always in that position. This is only one handle and you never know if the flight ends on an airfield. Your retrieving crew should always find a "travel-finished" trailer.
