Wear tail

The wear tail is a safety device for the trailer. It protects the tail of the trailer in the appropriate danger situations. Since the trailer is, because of its function a "long vehicle", we cannot prevent that occasionally, in extreme situations the tail touches down short term on the road. This happens whenever the course drives through expressed hollow. Usually the case arises when the retracting or extending on external landing field. It is better to remove the trailer in such a situation and to pass the danger place by hand, but if it happens anyway the tail of the trailer is protected by the wear tails. At the end you leave a (rarely also two) scratch on the bitumen and the wear tail shows that it was used. A larger damage of the trailer within the tail range could be avoided thus.

The wear tail consists of two steel cuffs welded perpendicularly one on the other. The galvanized construction is fastened with two stop nuts/mothers on two screws integrated in the chassis side. The wear is extremely small and the case, which the wear tails prevent a damage, arises actually rather rarely. If you should recognize however a increased wear of this construction unit should there are two possibilities. You change your travel route or eliminate the danger place, if it is to be searched in your house entry or on the approach road to the airfield, or you change the wear tails in time (before the thread is attacked). We supply a spare part to you if you need a new one.
